WHAT IS A ZINGER BURGER?
The Chicken Zinger Burger (Pakistani-Style Recipe) is a flavorful, crispy chicken sandwich that showcases Pakistani culinary skill. Originally from KFC, it has become an iconic dish in Pakistani cuisine. During my visits to Pakistan, I’ve enjoyed the authentic Zinger burger experience, and it’s now a cherished tradition for me to pair it with Dahi Puri Chaat on the first day of my trip. The perfect crispiness of the chicken is achieved with a blend of corn flour, rice flour, all-purpose flour, and a mix of seasonings. This amazing Pakistani main dish recipe comes from my beautiful sister-in-law—she truly makes the best Zinger burger. She’s tested, trialed, and perfected this Pakistani dinner recipe, and her Zinger Burger is always spot on. WHY MAKE THIS RECIPE?
HOW TO MAKE BUTTERMILK AT HOME?
To make homemade buttermilk, simply add 1 tablespoon of vinegar to a cup of room-temperature milk and let it sit for 10 minutes. Stir, and it’s ready to use. Don’t skip this marination step, as it enhances both the flavor and tenderness of the chicken.
SUBSTITUTE AND ADDITIONS
This recipe includes a secret Zinger sauce, but you can always use store-bought burger sauce as a substitute. I used pepper jack cheese, but mozzarella, Swiss, or American cheese would work just as well. I prefer Brioche buns, but potato or regular burger buns are great alternatives.
